School Administrator
Job Purpose
- To oversee daily operations of the school
- To hire, manage, and supervise staff, ensure the school operates according to GES standard, plan educational programmes together with headteacher, ensure all guidelines are adhered to, and work with students and parents to ensure a positive learning environment
Job Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the school.
- Develop and implement school policies that align with educational standards and best practices.
- Regularly review and update school handbooks and guidelines to reflect current regulations needs.
- Coordinate school events, including parent-teacher meetings, open days and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the school runs smoothly and efficiently by managing schedules, facilities, and resources.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure a safe environment for pupils and staff.
- Manage budgets and finances.
- Support teacher professional development.
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and stakeholders.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, and training of qualified staff members to maintain a high standard of education.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations with team members and provide constructive feedback to promote staff development.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and professional growth among staff.
- Address student behaviour and disciplinary issues in accordance with established protocols.
- Establish strong relationships with parents and guardians to promote a supportive school community.
- Ensure compliance with early childhood education regulations.
- Support social-emotional learning.
- Facilitate parent-child interactions.
- Organise workshops, seminars, and informational sessions to engage families in the educational process.
- Partner with local organisations, businesses, and community leaders to enhance resources and programs available to students.
- Analyse student performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted intervention strategies.
- Ensure all students have access to the support services they need, including counselling and academic assistance.
- Promote extracurricular activities and programmes that enhance student engagement and development.
- Maintain an inventory of school supplies and resources, ensuring that all classrooms are well-equipped for learning.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, ILO and Fairtrade standards within the school.
- Manage licensing and certification requirements of the school and facility
- Implement safety protocols to enhance the safety of the pupils, teachers, workers and visitors.
- Conduct regular risk assessments.
Competencies:
- Minimum of First Degree in Education / School Administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in school administration or educational leadership.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office 365 productivity tools and AI for education
- Administrative experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of child development and education regulations.
- A commitment to fostering a multicultural and inclusive environment
- Knowledge in basic finance/accounting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Ability to deliver, keep and maintain records according to set instructions.
- Flexibility, accountability, excellence, and integrity.
