Management Accountant

Location: HPW F&D Ghana /HPW F&D Sarl –Cote d’ Ivoire (Ghana/Cote d’ Ivoire)

Job Purpose:

To monitor and optimize the company’s financial performance through cost analysis, working capital management, financial statement evaluation, and investment appraisal by ensuring accurate cost allocation, supports liquidity and capital planning, and provides data-driven insights to enhance profitability and financial stability.
 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Production Cost Control
    • Conduct product costing and variance analysis to track cost fluctuations and recommend corrective actions.
    • Determine optimal selling prices for various products based on cost structures and market conditions.
    • Perform throughput accounting and limiting factor analysis to enhance production efficiency and profitability.
    • Evaluate performance metrics and implement responsibility accounting to ensure accountability across departments.
    • Conduct make-or-buy analysis to assess the financial viability of procuring semi-processed dry fruits versus in-house processing.
    • Support budget preparation at departmental and company-wide levels, analyzing variances and providing insights for financial planning.
    • Calculate and monitor Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
    • Implement and maintain cost control procedures to reduce waste, enhance resource allocation, and prevent unnecessary expenses.
    • Conduct scenario analysis to assess the financial impact of various strategic options and provide data-driven recommendations.
    • Identify financial risks and collaborate with management to develop and
    • implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Working Capital Management
    • Analyze working capital efficiency to optimize cash flow and operational liquidity.
    • Manage inventory control by determining Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), minimum stock levels, and re-order levels to ensure cost-effective stock management.
    • Oversee debtor and creditor management, ensuring timely collections and payments to maintain a healthy cash flow.
    • Support cash flow and fund flow planning, assisting in liquidity analysis to ensure financial stability and operational continuity.
  • Financial Statement Analysis
    • Conduct monthly analysis of the company’s current ratio to assess short-term financial stability.
    • Perform quarterly reviews of the company’s liquidity ratio to monitor financial health and cash flow sufficiency.
    • Analyze sales and cost trends, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Evaluate the cost of debt, assessing its impact on overall financial performance.
  • Long-term and Short-term Investment Appraisal
    • Assess capital investment projects, ensuring financial viability and alignment with company objectives.
    • Conduct capital mix analysis to maintain an optimal capital structure while considering cost of capital theories and leverage strategies.


Competencies:

  • Qualification

    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Finance or related field

    • Member of any Chartered Institute of Management Accountants- (CIMA) body – added advantage

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office- Exell, Power Point & Word

    • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in a similar role,

    • Good report writing skills.

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Movie Magic Budgeting, QuickBooks, Excel).

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
